Bob Rosing’s “Got Talent” Panel: Key Insights from Industry Experts
One of the standout sessions at BAMM 2025 was “Got Talent: Refocusing on Getting the Right Talent to the Right Place at the Right Time,” moderated by Dwellworks Executive Chairman Bob Rosing. First introduced at WERC’s Global Workforce Symposium in October 2024, the session had a much-anticipated reprise at BAMM, featuring a distinguished panel of industry experts:
- Alejandra Zapatero, Shareholder at Erickson Immigration Group
- Emerson Ross, Senior Manager, US Relocation Programs at Walmart
- Ron Dunlap, CEO of Graebel Companies, Inc.
- Anupam Singhal, CEO of WERC
This panel addressed one of the biggest challenges in global mobility today: attracting, retaining, and developing talent in an evolving business landscape. Some of the key takeaways included:
- Creating Purposeful Mobility Programs: Companies need to rethink how they approach talent mobility, ensuring relocation policies and benefits align with broader workforce and business goals.
- Understanding the Impact of Global Demographics and Public Policy: Sourcing essential talent is a core priority for CEOs per a 2024 PWC Talent Trends Report. In a climate of changing immigration, tax, and compliance laws, global mobility and HR professionals must think more strategically than ever about attracting, developing, retaining, and mobilizing their talent.
- Shifting to a Benefits and Investment Mindset: The ‘real cost’ of relocation is not the transactional expense associated with the move. It’s the potential replacement cost and opportunity loss when employees do not thrive on assignment and exit with their skills and difference-making capabilities as high-potential, high-production talent. A focus on making the marginal additional investment in benefits for top talent that bring outsized returns is key.
- Acknowledging Talent as a Value Creator: Companies create value through products, services, and people. A value creation approach to talent mobility means identifying and supporting the difference makers whose roles expand the value of the business overall.
Bob Rosing reinforced the need for a talent-first, value-creation focus during the session, stating:
“Talent is at the core of everything we do in mobility. The companies that create seamless, supportive relocation experiences will be the ones that attract and keep the best people.”
The panel left attendees with actionable insights on how to make talent mobility a strategic advantage in today’s competitive global market.

Major Themes and Industry Takeaways from BAMM 2025
BAMM 2025 featured several key themes that are prioritized in global mobility today. The day included over 15 content sessions covered in 8 hours, reflecting the interest of the BAMM community in a wide variety of high-impact subjects. A sampling of sessions topics included:
Changes in US Visa and Immigration Policy and Practice - This was the most pressing topic of the day, as employers and law firms create plans and communication strategies to respond to a surge of new Executive Orders and policies that impact the timing, requirements and scrutiny associated with US immigration, both for the general population and for employment-based programs.
Global Talent - Our industry has a responsibility to refocus mobility as a strategic service to support business goals. With this approach, the corporate priority shifts from focusing exclusively on incremental and transactional relocation costs to securing talent with appropriate benefits and support to drive value creation for the business.
Employee/Assignee Wellbeing and Duty of Care - Sessions focused on topics ranging from employee choice in benefits programs, the ongoing need to encourage and respect the diversity of talent within organizations, and the expectation to provide supportive environments for top talent to thrive during the challenging period of relocation, settling in, and adjustment to new home and workplace surroundings.
Bridging Cultures - The Bay Area is well known for the multiple cultures that thrive and contribute to the area’s appeal. Keeping cultural connections front and center is a key and sometimes under-utilized mobility resource that companies can activate to develop talent, nurture connections, and bridge transitions across borders.
Business Travel Resources - With a return to business travel over the past few years, there is an ongoing urgent need to track all travel for tax compliance as well as duty of care support and visibility. Timely updates were shared on effective systems available to support expanding travel needs.
Understanding the ROI of Mobility - Relocation is often singled out for cost scrutiny due to the multiple expenses associated with a move, from immigration fees to final settling-in costs and all the transactions in between. A new approach to positioning relocation expenses as cost containment compared to the loss of key talent and their cost of replacement sparked interest and discussion.
Strategic Perspectives on Talent Mobility - The opening and closing sessions of BAMM 2025 were opportunities to hear from the leaders in a cross-section of industry verticals, hosted by Anupam Singhal, CEO of WERC, and from corporate mobility program leaders from multiple companies, in a discussion moderated by Deb Convery, Head of Talent Mobility at Stripe.
