Dwellworks at WERC and GBTA 2025 in Singapore: Driving Global Travel and Mobility Forward

Dwellworks at WERC and GBTA 2025 in Singapore: Driving Global Travel and Mobility Forward

In May 2025, the Dwellworks team attended two summits in the global mobility and business travel space: APAC25, held by Worldwide ERC® (WERC) and the Asia Pacific 2025 Conference hosted by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA). The sessions were co-located in Singapore, the commercial hub of this dynamic region, and brought together corporate program managers in global mobility and business travel with global leaders in destination services, temporary housing, relocation management, business travel services, and business travel procurement for several days of learning, insight sharing, and connection building.

Representing Dwellworks at both events were key members of our Asia Pacific and global team:

  • Dima Lorenz, Vice President, Account Management | APAC
  • Stuart Giam, Director, Client Services | APAC
  • Dawn Brandenburg, Director of Sales and Business Development

From main stage moments to client conversations, our team reinforced the value and visibility of Dwellworks as a global leader in relocation services and housing solutions - and as a collaborative partner who's ready for what’s next.

Shared Priorities in Global Workforce Mobility and Travel

The WERC and GBTA conferences were co-located for good reason. In many companies, program managers have responsibility for both business travel and global relocation within their remit. Areas of cross-over interest in the two closely related sectors include responding to business demands and managing budget allocations in a still uncertain global economy as well as managing vendor service lines that include accommodations, logistics, and transportation. Global relocation and business travel are both directly impacted by legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to visa and immigration, as well as sustainability, data privacy, compliance, and duty of care. And of course, as in business services everywhere, corporate attendees at the two conferences had a keen interest in technology developments, improvements in operating efficiency, and solutions that maximized cost control and reporting to support further strategies based on data and ROI.

Across the two conferences, the agenda covered these topics in forums, presentations, and panels led by subject matter experts. Both the WERC and GBTA summits included insights from economists who linked the regional economy to the disruptions and opportunities of the global economy overall. A recurring theme was the momentum in Asia Pacific, whether in business travel spend (the region enjoys the largest concentration of travel investment across the world’s major regions, per GBTA), GDP growth – 4x the pace of either the EU or the US in 2025, or the rapid geographic diversification of manufacturing beyond China, including by Chinese companies, as a hedge against tariffs and supply chain disruption.

Notable at both conferences was the participation of corporate program leaders in global mobility and global business travel in supplier roundtables. With so much information to analyze at heightened new speeds, the need for participants across these value chains to understand one another’s needs, strategies, and priorities took on a greater urgency. High profile corporates participated in the roundtables and fireside chats including organizations such as GM, Schneider Electric, Continental Automotive, Publicis Groupe, UBS, and the Asian Development Bank.

A shared exhibit space enabled free flowing connection and the exchange of essential product and services information across attendees. And furthering the common ground between their industries and associations, WERC CEO and President Anupam Singhal and GBTA CEO Suzanne Neufeld each spoke on the significance of Asia Pacific in the global economy and the travel and relocation sectors specifically. Each addressed the significant headwinds and risks associated with the global economy pausing in a period of uncertainty, but both found in APAC the energy, creativity, and promise that will drive growth in a post-disruption era. As Anupam Singhal noted in his closing comments, talent mobility, whether for relocation or travel, is a value creator for business.

Dwellworks on the Main Stage at APAC 25: Mobility in a Changing World

At the WERC APAC 25 Global Mobility Summit, Dwellworks Vice President Dima Lorenz served as moderator for one of the event’s premier main stage sessions: “APAC Mobility in a Changing World.” This panel brought together top experts from across the region to discuss what has changed, and what’s still changing, across Asia Pacific relocation markets. The panel included perspectives from Shivvani Aggarwal, Formula Group (India), Akbhar Hameed, Graebel Companies (Singapore), Gordon Chui, Nomad (Hong Kong), and Anna Kavelj, Elite Woodhams Relocation (Australia).

Key session themes included:

  • The evolution of mobility hotspots in APAC
  • New and evolving client expectations
  • The rise of flexible and technology-enhanced service offerings
  • The AI and tech integration road map in Asia Pacific mobility
  • Short- and long-term rental pricing trends across the region
  • Shifting the lens from cost reduction to a more strategic approach to supplier value

The panelists engaged in a candid conversation comparing the cautious holding pattern of the current state of mobility, globally and regionally, to the promise seen in new corporate clients and programs, revitalized traditional destinations (such as Hong Kong), fast growing new markets, (in Malaysia, Vietnam, and India, for example), and the expanding outbound talent assignments from China and India to Southeast Asia and Europe, and their related service needs. Whether discussing a holistic approach to relocation cost models or the gradually increasing impact of AI, the consensus was clear: the APAC region is a center of opportunity, innovation, and resilience.

This panel was a powerful showcase of Dwellworks global insight and thought leadership. With thanks to Benny Tan at Altair and Voon Lee at Visa Care, co-chairs of the conference, for their guidance in content development, we were honored to help shape the conversation for attendees from across the region and around the world. Global Connections at GBTA Asia Pacific

While the WERC summit focused on the future of global mobility and relocation in the region, the GBTA 2025 Asia Pacific Conference explored the trends, tools, and strategies shaping business travel today. With more than 700 attendees representing corporate travel buyers, suppliers, and global travel program managers, the GBTA event was a critical venue for Dwellworks to reinforce our solutions in the global travel landscape.

As a proud member of GBTA, Dwellworks is deeply engaged in the conversations and coalitions that are driving strategic travel management forward. At the Singapore conference, we connected with procurement professionals and travel stakeholders to explore how corporate housing and relocation support can contribute to duty of care, budget optimization, sustainability goals, and improved traveler experiences.

We attended sessions ranging from the economic insights of keynote speaker Dr. Deborah Elon, Head of Trade Policy at Singapore’s Hinrich Foundation as well as the industry leader panelists who guided the conversation on “Shaping the Future of Business Travel and Tourism in Asia Pacific.” Other sessions included essential, subject-specific topics such as “Facilitating the Future of Business Travel,” the cleverly named, “The AI-tinerary" and timely updates on sustainability in travel and accommodations led by Delphine Millot, Managing Director of the GBTA Foundation.

From managing housing for group projects and rotational assignments to providing solutions for interns, VIPs, and long-term assignees, Dwellworks and Dwellworks Living support business travel needs with scalable, cost-efficient, and ideally matched housing solutions. Our attendance at GBTA Singapore and the level of interest expressed by visitors to our booth in the shared exhibit area reaffirmed that corporate accommodations solutions are not just a travel service, but also a strategic factor in travel planning, traveler engagement, and duty of care.

Through our participation at GBTA’s Asia Pacific 2025 event, we had the opportunity to showcase how our global housing expertise, technology platforms, and local market presence align with the evolving needs of global travel programs. Whether in APAC, the Americas, or EMEA, Dwellworks is positioned to deliver consistency, compliance, and exceptional service.
