A Language Map of Switzerland 

The principal languages spoken in Switzerland are German, French, Italian, and Romansh. German is the most widely spoken language, used by more than 60% of the population. German-speaking Switzerland includes cities such as Zürich, Basel, and Bern. French is the local language in Geneva and surrounding cities. Italian is spoken in the canton of Ticino (Lombardy) on the border with Italy, and Romansh is the language of alpine Graubünden, the canton that is home to St. Moritz. German, French and Italian all share the status of ‘official’ languages and English is also commonly used across Switzerland.
